Website delivery, security and chemical search

Our hosting and search services process the information needed to deliver the website and respond to requests, including IP address, request time, browser information, requested resource and technical errors. A chemical search sends your entered structure, identifier or formula and selected filters to the search service. Rate limiting uses a hashed IP-based identifier that expires after two minutes. These activities serve our legitimate interests in providing and protecting the website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We do not use chemical search queries for advertising profiling.

Email enquiries and business correspondence

When you contact us, we process the information you provide, including your name, email address, company, selected compounds and requirements, to respond and prepare or perform a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Business contact handling may also rely on Article 6(1)(f). Records required by tax or commercial law are retained under Article 6(1)(c). Opening an email link only prepares a message in your email application; it is sent when you choose to send it. Standard email is not end-to-end encrypted.

Accounts

If you use an account, its email address, authentication information, profile and associated business records are processed to provide access and account services. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and, for security, Article 6(1)(f). Public catalogue searches do not require an account.

Browser storage

Necessary browser storage supports the functions you request: your inquiry list, account sign-in where used, saved search results for the current tab session and your storage-notice preference. Search history is kept in this browser, not attached to a customer account. You can delete individual searches or the complete history. Old sessions are removed on a subsequent search-session start after more than 24 hours of inactivity. The inquiry list remains until you remove entries, clear it or clear browser storage. Sign-in tokens are removed on sign-out or when authentication expires. The storage-notice choice expires after 180 days.

This application does not load advertising or optional analytics scripts. Necessary device storage is used under Section 25(2) TDDDG. If optional services are introduced, they must remain disabled until you give informed consent. See cookies and browser storage details.

Service providers and recipients

The site uses Lovable for hosting and deployment and Supabase services for the database, authentication and chemical search backend. Providers may process technical information on our behalf. Email correspondence is handled through the company email service. Information may also be disclosed where necessary to fulfil an agreed transaction, comply with a legal obligation or protect legal rights. We do not sell personal data.

Retention and international processing

Personal data is retained for the purpose for which it was collected, then erased when it is no longer required, unless statutory retention duties or legal claims require longer storage. Technical logs are retained only for hosting, security and fault investigation needs. Business correspondence and transaction records follow the applicable statutory retention periods. Where a provider processes information outside the EEA, transfers must comply with Articles 44–49 GDPR, for example through an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards.

Your rights

Subject to the GDPR conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw any consent with future effect. Contact our privacy email to exercise these rights. You can also complain to a supervisory authority, including the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information: datenschutz-hamburg.de.

Providing information and policy changes

You are not required to create an account or send an enquiry to browse the catalogue. Information needed to respond to an enquiry or fulfil a contract is necessary for that service. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects through the chemical search. Changes are published on this page with an updated date.
